Ainsworth Bulldogs Qualify for 2021 State Cross Country

With injuries and illness lurking in October, the task of making it back to Kearney for the State Cross Country meet got taller for the Ainsworth Cross Country teams. On Thursday, October 14th the Ainsworth teams responded with their best team efforts of the season and will head back to the State Cross Country meet on Friday, October 22nd.

Ainsworth Bulldogs End 2021 Football Season with 1-7 Record

The Ainsworth Bulldog football team ended its 2021 regular season on Friday, October 14th with a loss to Summerland in Orchard, 20-58. The Dawgs had a tough time moving the ball against the Summerland Bobcats in the first half and stopping Summerland’s offense.

Motorists Urged to Use Caution to Avoid Collisions With Deer

Deer are more active this time of the fall. Crops are being harvested and deer breeding season is in full swing. The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission has suggestions to help drivers avoid deer-vehicle accidents and lessen the risk of injury or vehicle damage.

Gardener Gets Surprise Potato

Dorothy Kenney brought in this Russet potato she recently harvested. Evidently it couldn’t decide whether it wanted to be one potato or numerous potatoes, so opted for one large and a lot of companions. Kenny said they had very large red potatoes and lots of gourds.

2,510 New UNMC Students Mark Beginning of Health Professions

The University of Nebraska Medical Center welcomes 2,510 new students this fall as they make a commitment in the health professions and begin educational programs in Omaha, Lincoln, Kearney, Scottsbluff and Norfolk. Students are enrolled in programs for medicine, nursing, pharmacy, dentistry, allied health professions and graduate studies.
