The Brown County Board of Commissioners held their regular meeting on Tuesday, October 19th at the Brown County Courthouse. Commissioners Buddy Small, Dennis Bauer and Reagan Wiebelhaus were all present. Brown County Attorney Andy Taylor, Clerk Travee Hobbs and Treasurer Deb Von-Heeder were also present.
The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission amended its wildlife regulations to create the Freeearned Landowner Elk Permit Program at its October 22nd meeting in North Platte. In the program, a person who owns or leases at least 80 acres of farm-or ranchland for agricultural purposes qualifies for an either-sex elk permit following the verification of 10 general antlerless elk harvests; immediate family members are eligible for the permit.
The Ainsworth Bulldog Volleyball team is winding down its 2021 season with a current record of 17-14. The Bulldogs traveled to Arnold on Tuesday, October 19th for a dual against South Loup.
Continuing implementation of Nebraska Legislative Bill 572 will include the waivable citations for statute violations which becomes effective November 1, 2021. The citations will be used for several situations including sale, slaughter or disposal of a live animal or carcass without inspections; transportation of live animals without proper documentation inside the brand area; or movement of livestock outside the brand area without inspection.
