In January 2016, the Brown County Community Foundation Fund hosted a town hall meeting in the cafeteria of Ainsworth Community Schools, which was attended by over 100 local residents. The purpose of the session was to receive input regarding an update to the Ainsworth/Brown County Strategic Plan for Economic Development and Community Improvement, which was originally prepared in 2007. Plans were put into place in the spring of 2020 to schedule a town hall meeting to once again update the Strategic Plan. However, the plans had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Brown County Community Foundation Fund has now renewed its effort to update the Strategic Plan with the scheduling of a town hall meeting to identify new priority projects to be held on September 15th.

The Ainsworth School Board held their regular meeting on Monday, August 9th at 8:00 p.m. in the District Office. School board members Jim Arens, Mark Johnson, Frank Beel, Jessica Pozehl, Scott Erthum and Brad Wilkins were present.

The Brown County Commissioners held their regular meeting on Tuesday, August 3rd at the Brown County Courthouse. Commissioners Buddy Small and Dennis Bauer were present and Reagan Wiebelhaus was absent. Brown County Attorney Andy Taylor, Brown County Clerk Travee Hobbs and Brown County Treasurer Deb Vonheeder were also present.

The Long Pine City Council held a regular meeting on Thursday, August 5th at 7:00 p.m. at the Long Pine Community Center. Council members Linda Alberts, Dave Cheatum, Kathy Papstein and Andrea Collatos were present, as well as City Clerk Jan Buoy, Mayor Ed Brown and Utilities Superintendent Jim Debolt.

100 Years Ago: 1921 Ainsworth City Schools went back in session on Monday, September 5th for the 1921-1922 school year. Daily Schedule: A regular school day began at 8:30 a.m.

The annual Glow Ball Golf Tournament was held at the Ainsworth Municipal Golf Course on Saturday, July 31st. Twenty-one teams competed in the annual event.
