Ainsworth Community Schools Begins Classes on Thursday, August 13

Ainsworth Community Schools will open its doors to students for the 2026-27 school year on Thursday, August 13. The school has a host of new employees beginning this year.
Ainsworth Reclaims Border Cup

Ainsworth recaptured the Border Cup Saturday at the Ainsworth Golf Course, winning the annual match play event between members of the Ainsworth Golf Course and Bassett Country Club by a score of 15-1/2 to 9-1/2.
Chrome, Horsepower and Heart: Celtic Riders Rally Community for Kolter Mizner

The rumble of motorcycles and the spirit of generosity filled the roads of north central Nebraska on Saturday as the Celtic Riders hosted their annual Miles That Matter Poker Run, raising funds to help Ainsworth youngster Kolter Mizner and his family.
Century Lumber Held Summer Drawings

Century Lumber Center of Ainsworth held two drawings with entries taking place the last week of June and ending on Independence Day weekend. One drawing celebrated America’s 250th birthday.
Ainsworth Housing Authority Welcomes Montana Price as New Executive Director

We are pleased to welcome Montana Price as the new Executive Director of Park Homes. Montana will be starting in early August, as her schedule allows.

June 6th - 12th, 2021 Sunday, June 6th Provided assistance with an allied agency investigating a report of a possible sexual assault involving a Brown County resident. The Brown County Ambulance Association transported an Ainsworth resident to the Brown County Hospital.

Wilkins Awarded $1,500.00 America’s Farmers Grow Ag Leaders Scholarship

Local college student, Samuel Wilkins, has been awarded a $1,500.00 scholarship from America’s Farmers Grow Ag Leaders, sponsored by Bayer Fund. In the fall, Wilkins will continue to study Agricultural Engineering at University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

The Governor correctly vetoed the bill, but the legislature voted to override his veto. I voted against the bill. LB 147 is a very bad idea for the taxpayers of Nebraska. Let me explain.
