Ainsworth Community Schools will open its doors to students for the 2026-27 school year on Thursday, August 13. The school has a host of new employees beginning this year.

Ainsworth recaptured the Border Cup Saturday at the Ainsworth Golf Course, winning the annual match play event between members of the Ainsworth Golf Course and Bassett Country Club by a score of 15-1/2 to 9-1/2.

The rumble of motorcycles and the spirit of generosity filled the roads of north central Nebraska on Saturday as the Celtic Riders hosted their annual Miles That Matter Poker Run, raising funds to help Ainsworth youngster Kolter Mizner and his family.

Poppy Day was held on Wednesday, June 9th. Six members of the Junior American Legion Auxiliary Unit #79 distributed poppies in the morning to Ainsworth businesses. They were (left to right): Jodie Denny, Briley Naprstek, Alyssa Erthum and Advisor Shari Luther. Senior member Roberta Denny and Poppy Chairman Amy Salzman also distributed poppies.
