Ainsworth Community Schools Begins Classes on Thursday, August 13

Ainsworth Community Schools will open its doors to students for the 2026-27 school year on Thursday, August 13. The school has a host of new employees beginning this year.

Ainsworth recaptured the Border Cup Saturday at the Ainsworth Golf Course, winning the annual match play event between members of the Ainsworth Golf Course and Bassett Country Club by a score of 15-1/2 to 9-1/2.
Chrome, Horsepower and Heart: Celtic Riders Rally Community for Kolter Mizner

The rumble of motorcycles and the spirit of generosity filled the roads of north central Nebraska on Saturday as the Celtic Riders hosted their annual Miles That Matter Poker Run, raising funds to help Ainsworth youngster Kolter Mizner and his family.
Century Lumber Held Summer Drawings

Century Lumber Center of Ainsworth held two drawings with entries taking place the last week of June and ending on Independence Day weekend. One drawing celebrated America’s 250th birthday.

The committee meeting was held prior to the June 14th Regular Board Meeting.

Wade Alberts’ small-town background has never stopped him from accomplishing big things. A 1990 Ainsworth High School alum, Alberts will be in Tokyo, Japan next month at his third Olympics as a Sports Massage Therapist for Team USA.

Brad Wilkins of Ainsworth to Serve as President of Nebraska Association of School Boards

Brad Wilkins, a 1985 graduate of Ainsworth High School, will begin serving as the President of the Board of Directors of the Nebraska Association of School Boards (NASB) this November. “It is work that I find very rewarding and hopefully impactful for the schools and most importantly students in our state” said Wilkins.

Weather permitting, roadway paint striping will begin June 14th in the Merriman and Valentine areas, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation. Vogel Traffic Services, of Orange City, IA, has the $831,103.00 contract.
