An Intro to Life Held for Sophomore Students in Six Area Schools

At one of the many tables set up, students have a pile of bills and coins - looking a bit like a poker table - yet this class is anything but a gamble! Students from Cody-Kilgore, Valentine, Thedford, Ainsworth, Rock County and Keya Paha schools were gathered Thursday, November 17, at the Cherry County Fairgrounds to collectively learn life skills. There were several stations set up for students to learn what goes into making real life decisions.

I am very saddened to report that I received a call in my office this week from the US Fish and Wildlife Service announcing Nebraska Public Power District’s (NPPD’s) plan to resume the permit process necessary to build the R-Project powerline through the Sandhills. I have strongly opposed this project from the day I was sworn into office in 2017 and I will continue to fight against it until my term expires. The project had been halted after a federal court ruled-against it for failing to comply with federal environmental law.

Fischer Announces Staff Local Office Hours for Keya Paha, Boyd, Rock and Brown Counties

U.S. Senator Deb Fischer (RNeb.) announced today her staff will hold local office hours for constituents in Keya Paha, Boyd, Rock, and Brown counties on Tuesday, November 29, 2022. These office hours serve as a convenient opportunity for constituents to speak in person directly with Senator Fischer’s staff to receive help with casework and other issues at the federal level.
