Ainsworth Senior Center Celebrates 45 Years

Forty-five years ago on August 2, 1981, the Ainsworth Senior Center held an open house to celebrate their new building. Senior Center officers in 1981 were Dorothy Walton, Bill Gudgel, Dwight Moody, Burdetta Jansen and George Brede.

Area Fire Departments Respond to Friday Night Fire

A Friday night fire destroyed a building in Ainsworth. According to Ainsworth Assistant Fire Chief Devin Painter, at approximately 9:30 p.m.
Ainsworth Community Schools Begins Classes on Thursday, August 13

Ainsworth Community Schools will open its doors to students for the 2026-27 school year on Thursday, August 13. The school has a host of new employees beginning this year.
Ainsworth Reclaims Border Cup

Ainsworth recaptured the Border Cup Saturday at the Ainsworth Golf Course, winning the annual match play event between members of the Ainsworth Golf Course and Bassett Country Club by a score of 15-1/2 to 9-1/2.

Not to sure how many people expected to wake up to frost covered trees on Saturday morning, November 12th, but we did here in Ainsworth. The temperatures have really taken a dip and most weren’t ready for those temperatures to stick around, but sounds like they will be.

Brown County Hospital Receives Funds for Dexa Scan Machine

The Brown County Hospital Auxiliary and Brown County Community Fund recently donated toward the purchase of a new Dexa Scanner in the Radiology Department. Bone density or Dexa scans measure the mineral content of bones providing your primary care provider with a score to measure your risk of osteoporosis.

This year, Brown County Hospital sent Jayce Linse, RN to the Nebraska Hospital Association (NHA) Leadership Academy. The NHA Leadership Academy is open to Nebraska healthcare professionals in cooperation with the Nebraska Hospital Association and instructors from Bellevue University.

Through the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), Nebraska producers have funding opportunities to help address the spread of invasive woody vegetation on rangeland. Landowners interested in receiving funding should apply at their local NRCS field office by November 18, 2022.
