2022 AHS Volleyball 18-16 Winning Season

Throughout the season, Coach Jeri Graff pumped up her team during time outs. Graff said that some of the players set new school records for the volleyball team at Ainsworth Community Schools. New records were: Blocks in a Match - Cameryn Goochey had 8 vs Gordon Rushville on October 15th which tied with Kirsten Petersen’s record from 2008; Blocks in a Season - Cameryn Goochey with 67; Blocks in a Career - Cameryn Goochey with 142; Digs in a Match - Kerstyn Held with 38 vs Burwell on September 22, 2022; and Assists in a Season - Dakota Stutzman with 463.

Sandhills Care Center Has Fun With Trick or Treaters

Sandhills Care Center was able to open their doors this year to the Trick or Treaters. While Trick or Treating, the youth were able to say hi to the residents, exchange some smiles with each other and maybe in some cases, they exchanged a hug or two.

Jane Keller Memorial Art Show Scheduled for December 2, 3 and 4

The Jane Keller Memorial Art Show in Bassett will be open to the public for viewing Friday, December 2nd from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, December 3rd and 4th from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. As a reminder the Chambers Parade of Lights starts around 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 4th. Artists can pick up their items after directly after the parade or on Monday, December 5th from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Dustin Graham Inducted Into USBC Bowling Hall of Fame in Kearney

On October 29, 2022, Dustin Graham, son of Steve and Peggy Graham, was inducted into the Kearney USBC Bowling Hall of Fame. Dustin has a career of 29 - 300 games and 14 - 800 series. His high average is 226 and has a lifetime average of 215 in Kearney.

Nebraska Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired Gives Deskset Video Magnifier to Library

A recent partnership between the Nebraska Library Commission and the Nebraska Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired (NCBVI) has improved services the Ainsworth Public Library provides for patrons with low vision. NCBVI has provided a 20” ONYX Deskset HD CCTV (electronic video magnifier) to each public library location in Nebraska at no cost. At the Ainsworth Public Library, the magnifier is currently in the public computer access area right by the door, but is mobile enough to place anywhere in the library.
