LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) _ Nebraska fired Scott Frost on Sunday, the situation so dire in the onceproud football program that athletic director Trev Alberts made the move only three weeks before the coach’s contract buyout would have been cut in half.

Nebraska Head Football Coach Scott Frost walked off the football field at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, for the last time as head coach on Saturday, September 10th. On Sunday, September 11th, Trev Alberts, Vice Chancellor, Director of Athletics of Nebraska told the head coach that he was fired and released of his duties. Along with being fired, he will receive a $15 million payout. The search will begin immediately for a new coach to begin duties after this season. Interim Head Coach will be Mickey Joseph.

As the next session of the Nebraska Legislature approaches in January, senators are starting to talk about bill ideas. As I ponder my last two years in the legislature, I am reminded that we senators who are about to be termed-out have a duty. We need to leave the Unicameral better than we found it for the people of Nebraska.
