26 AHS Seniors of Class of 2022 Recognized for Receiving 188 Scholarships

There were 188 scholarships awarded to 26 members of Ainsworth High School’s 2022 graduating class for outstanding performances in the classroom, fine arts, athletics and other activities. The following is a list of scholarship recipients listed alphabetically by last name.

Highway 20 Update

A&R Construction finished removing the asphalt from the south lane of Highway 20. Removal of underlying concrete pavement, concrete curb and gutter and driveways is complete west of Main Street and will progress east.

Mob County Leads After Three Weeks of Trap League

After week three of the Spring Trap League, Mob County jumps into the lead with 601 followed by 1st Class Auto - 592, Ainsworth Golf Team - 587, Ripley Chevy - 580. Other teams are Berry Creek with 578, Doug’s Mobile - 575, Weed Eaters - 561, Weed Wackers - 549, and Hometown Lumber - 545.

Class of 2022 Final Walk Through

Following graduation practice on May 11th, the Ainsworth High School Class of 2022 walked through McAndrew Elementary to their class song, “The Good Old Days” by Macklemore, as they walked through the school one final time before AHS Graduation on May 15th.

This Week in Brown County History

The front page of the May 18, 1972 paper was all about, “Out With the Old...In With the New.” Star-Journal subscribers this week read an “all-new Ainsworth newspaper.” The size changed to a tabloid with more pages. The biggest change, however, was that type was now being set in the “latest photocomposition computers. Pictures are no longer converted to engravings, but instead are converted to screen negatives. The whole new process of printing by which the newspaper is produced this week is called lithography, or photo-offset.”
