Firemen Called to Grass Fire

Area fire departments were called to a grass fire on Friday, May 13th southwest of Johnstown. A rancher was checking fences and the UTV he was driving started a grass fire when he stopped.

61% of Brown County Voters Turn Out for 2022 Nebraska Primary Election

A total of 1,252 Brown County voters, 60.66% of the total 2,064 registered voters in the county, turned out to cast their ballots on Tuesday, May 10th during the 2022 Nebraska May Primary. The polling location for Brown County voters is the Ainsworth Conference Center.

Click It or Ticket Campaign Starts May 23rd With A Border to Border Kickoff Event

During this year’s national Click It or Ticket seat belt campaign, which will take place May 23 through June 5, 2022, the Brown County Sheriff’s Office will be teaming up with law enforcement nationwide for a Border to Border (B2B) kickoff event. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is asking all states to participate in B2B, a one-day, 4-hour national seat belt awareness event on May 23 to increase law enforcement participation by coordinating highly visible seat belt enforcement for drivers at state border checkpoints.
