Drought Planning for the Grazing Season

The start of the growing season is just a couple of months away and last year’s drought conditions across parts of Nebraska should inspire us to complete grazing and forage plans for the coming year. Depending on the local drought severity in 2021, it is not uncommon that there would be some carryover effects on grass production in 2022.

Carol Woods enjoyed the lovely day on Sunday of 61 degrees. It is strange how fast the temperature drops and at 7:30 a.m. on Monday it is 11 degrees and snowing. It is very dry and we pray rain will be received. Carol watered her iris and hibicus on Sunday. Some tulips are peeking thru the ground. A pine tree has been lost over the winter. Her brother, Jim Marsh of Ceresco, is very dry also and has been watering his trees, lawn and iris bed.

NCCCP and ASAP to Hold Meeting The North Central Community Care Partnership (NCCCP), a local non-profit organization, and the Area Substance Abuse Prevention (ASAP) coalition would like to notify and invite community members to the February 25, 2022 meeting, from 11:00 to 2:00 p.m. at LaCasanita Restaurant in O’Neill, NE.

Entertaining Strangers

“Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.” Hebrews 13:2 NIV There is cause for wonder in the fact that all the major religions instruct us to be kind to strangers and to help those who may be sojourning in our lands. Perhaps the reason for this is simply because humans are mobile, and we tend to move away from dangerous areas or areas lacking in food to safer and more abundant regions.
