After the loss of her infant child in 2016, Melissa Stewart of Long Pine decided she needed an outlet, and Prairieland Flowers was created. She had a background in horticulture and cut flowers.

Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy Director Jim Macy announced on February 16th the award of $6,679,007.00 in grants to support 155 projects across the state. These grants will help fund litter and waste reduction projects, recycling programs, and pay costs for scrap tire cleanups and collections for household hazardous waste, electronic waste, and pharmaceuticals.

The AHS Speech Team competed at the Blue and Gold Speech Meet in North Platte on Saturday, February 12th. The team placed 3rd out of the 28 teams present.

In their final week of regular season games, the 2021-22 Ainsworth Bulldogs girls basketball team took a W home from Stuart on Tuesday, but were served an L on Friday when they hosted Gothenburg, giving AHS a 15-8 (65%) season record heading into subdistricts.

Last week, the Dawgs knocked off the Stuart Broncos and the Gothenburg Swedes to give themselves a 15-7 (68%) record with only one regular season game remaining before subdistrict play. On Tuesday, February 8th, the Bulldogs beat the 13-6 Broncos in Stuart by a 15-point margin.

The Ainsworth Wrestling Team finished its 2020-21 season at Class D-1 Districts. D-1 Districts was held in Maxwell, NE on February 11th and 12th.
