As a primary care physician, I walk with my patients as they face many of life’s challenges. Facing the diagnosis of dementia may be one of the hardest. Any chronic illness involves loss, but dementia threatens the loss of not only ability and independence, but of the very self.

Alpha Delta Chapter Meets

Alpha Delta Chapter of DKG met March 20th at the Pizza Place in Bassett. Five members were present and after answering roll call made a donation to Read Aloud Nebraska.

Johnstown and Ainsworth Fire Departments Respond to Grass Fire

The Johnstown Fire Department with the assistance of the Ainsworth Fire Department responded to a grass fire on Monday afternoon, March 22nd. The fire was located a couple miles south of Highway 20 on the Ainsworth Airport road. The fire, which started from embers being blown from burning some construction debris was quickly extinguished.

Upholding the Second Amendment

Our Constitution’s framers affirmed our right to bear arms through the Second Amendment for an important reason; to provide Americans with means of protection and self-defense. This week Democrats brought to the House floor two bills they claim would protect safety by restricting gun ownership. I will always be vigilant in protecting Nebraskans’ Second Amendment rights, and I opposed both bills because they would do far more to harm the rights of law-abiding Americans than to address any real problem.
