Ainsworth Girls Wrestling Team participated in the Sandhills/ Thedford Girls Dual Tournament 2025 in Dunning on January 25th and came home with the first place team trophy. The Ainsworth Girls wrestled six matches during the day and won all six matches to take first place as a team.

The University of Nebraska at Kearney’s Department of Music, Theatre, and Dance welcomed 558 music students from 101 high schools across Nebraska for the annual Honor Band & Choral Clinic on Monday, January 27th.

The community is invited to roll up a sleeve and answer the call for patients in need by donating blood on February 3, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Earned Income Credits Ainsworth Public Library is hosting a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site starting January 31st with a kick-off reception from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Ainsworth Art Guild met January 11th at the home of Lynn Robertson for their Christmas party rescheduled from December due to illnesses. Six members attended and enjoyed a potluck lunch followed by the annual meeting to elect officers and plan the 2025 schedule.

For the last five years, I have had the great privilege of serving my local health system as Medical Director for Home Hospice. Every week I sit in a meeting with the multidisciplinary caretakers on this team – the nurses who provide the great majority of the hands-on care, social worker, pharmacist, dietician, and pastor. We discuss all the patients currently under our care and discuss how we can improve each patient’s suffering and maximize their quality of life.
