The Ainsworth Boys Wrestling team was in Sargent on Friday, December 13th for the Twin Loup Wrestling Invitational. As a team, Ainsworth placed 11th out of 19 teams.

After 40 years of service to West Plains Bank, Douglas L. Weiss will retire from the bank on January 14th, 2025 at the Annual Stockholders Meeting of Commercial Investment Company.

If you’ve driven by the Court House Park this month, you’ve probably noticed the new 25 foot Christmas tree standing tall and bright in the middle of the decor. The tree was purchased with Memorial monies from the Delores Stec and George Kamas families, along with matching donations from the Ainsworth Women’s Club.

One hundred and two candidates for bachelor’s degrees and 57 candidates for master’s degrees were recognized during Chadron State College’s Winter Commencement Ceremony on Friday, December 13, 2024. The commencement speaker was Brandon Hall, a Colorado school principal and former Marine.

The Ainsworth Community Schools Board of Education celebrated two long-time board members as they wrapped up their terms on the ACS Board. Mark Johnson and Scott Erthum were both honored with certificates of appreciation for their service and impact to the Board and to the students of ACS. Johnson served 22 years and Erthum served 12. Their time, commitment, and dedication to the students of ACS and the community will be missed and are much appreciated.
