On Saturday, April 20th, nine students from Ainsworth Middle School competed at the state level of the National History Day contest, held at Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln. The team of Paul Denny, Max Hasenohr and Keith Munnu have qualified for the national contest with their junior group performance titled “How the Attack on Pearl Harbor Changed the World.” More than 250 school students from across the state competed in the 44th annual Nebraska History Day contest.

Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) celebrated Arbor Day by planting fifteen trees in Long Pine. NPPD planted fifteen trees on the Cowboy Trail Wednesday, April 24th with the help of fourth graders from Ainsworth Elementary School and Bassett Grade School.

Ainsworth Track Teams competed in the West Holt Invite on April 18th at the Roger Brink Track & Field Complex in Atkinson. The Ainsworth Girls Track Team placed 5th with 53.75 points.

Ainsworth Middle School Golfers competed in the North Central Invitational Golf Meet at Bassett on April 18th. Ainsworth Middle School had 12 golfers compete in the Invitational.

The Ainsworth Boys Golf Team was in Ewing on April 10th for the Summerland Invitational. Ainsworth placed eighth out of 14 teams with a team score of 406.
