    Ainsworth Lions Club

    The Ainsworth Lions Club held its regular monthly meeting at 12:00 noon on April 15, 2024 at the Senior Center. Lions Club President Steve Dike called the meeting to order with 11 members present. Lion Fuchs provided the Treasurer’s Report that included a deposit from a donation for purchasing hamburgers for the All-Sports Tailgate and withdrawals for Ainsworth Chamber of Commerce dues and a donation to the Ainsworth Post Prom.

    Reflecting on Progress

    It’s human nature to tell stories about the past, and doctors aren’t immune to that impulse. The second year medical students rotating through my clinic have me reflecting on my own years as a fledgling physician, and the changes I’ve seen in my decades of practice.

    NPPD Celebrating Arbor Day with Students in Long Pine

    Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) will be celebrating Arbor Day by planting fifteen trees in Long Pine. NPPD will be planting fifteen trees on the Cowboy Trail Wednesday, April 24th with the help of fourth graders from Ainsworth Elementary School and Bassett Grade School.

    Brown County Community Foundation Awards Scholarships

    The Brown County Community Foundation has selected the 2024 scholarship recipients. Receiving scholarships are: • Taylor Allen – AHS Alumni and Roy Aten Memorial, • Mason Titus – AHS Alumni, • Jocelyn Good – AHS Alumni and Elizabeth Aten, • Cheyan Temple – Roy Aten Memorial, • Gracie Kinney – Elizabeth Aten Memorial, and • Ben Flynn – Morris Skinner Memorial..
