Properly taken soil tests can help gardeners understand the nutrient levels in the garden, and which nutrients need to be amended for the plant material and garden crops that have been or will be planted in the future.

Olivia Beel, daughter of Adam and Jenny Beel, attended the 96th Nebraska State FFA Convention in Lincoln, Nebraska April 2nd April 5th. She attended the convention with her FFA Chapter, Nebraska Agriculture Academy.

Residents at Cottonwood Villa recently completed a walking challenge to get up and going for spring. Pictured are the three participants who walked the farthest (Left to Right): Tracey (Moore) Noel - 13.25 miles, Janice Mitchell - 12.25 miles and Shirley Lentz - 7.75 miles. Altogether the residents counted nearly 50 miles during the two-week challenge.

Proceedings of Long Pine City Council Regular Meeting The Long Pine City Council held their regular meeting on April 4, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. in the Long Pine Community Center. Mayor Ed Brown called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and called attention to the open meeting laws posted on the wall of the Community Center. The following Council Members were present: Dave Cheatum, Bryan Sanford, Linda Alberts and Andrea Collatos. Also, present City Clerk/ Treasurer Jan Buoy and three (3) visitors.

April 10, 2024 Village of Johnstown Board of Trustees met at the Village Office, 106 N. Main, Johnstown.

The eclipse began Monday, April 8, 2024 with sprinkles, clouds, and grey skies. Which persisted until the eclipse was well over.
