    Long Pine Rural Fire Department Hosts Easter Egg Hunt

    The Long Pine Rural Fire Department hosted its annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 30th in the Keller Memorial Park in Long Pine. The temperature was about 34 degrees, but it didn’t seem to keep the young people from scattering throughout Keller Memorial Park to find all the candy the Long Pine firemen had spread about the park. It didn’t take long for the young people to clean up all the candy the firemen had placed.

    According to the calendar, Spring should be here! According to the Robins in my yard, Spring should be here! Easter egg hunters were wearing gloves to pick up the plastic Easter eggs which they shouldn’t have to, Spring should be here! High School Students are practicing golf and track, so Spring should be here! But, as I look out the window on Monday, April 1st and see vehicles going by with snow all over them and the UPS truck driver telling us when he left Valentine Monday morning, he left there with eight inches of snow already on the ground. At 11:35 a.m.

    Construction Season Begins in Ainsworth and Brown County

    Myers Construction of Broken Bow has been working since late 2023 on the North Main Street Project. The City of Ainsworth had to replace sewer and water lines on North Main Street from Highway 20 to the Ainsworth Waste Water Treatment Plant in preparation for the State of Nebraska replacing Main Street (Highway 7) through Ainsworth.
