On March 25th, Governor Jim Pillen signed a proclamation declaring March 25th - 29th as Nebraska Severe Weather Awareness Week, during a news conference at the Capitol. “Weather conditions can change very suddenly in our state,” said Governor Phillen.

The Long Pine Rural Fire Department hosted its annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 30th in the Keller Memorial Park in Long Pine. The temperature was about 34 degrees, but it didn’t seem to keep the young people from scattering throughout Keller Memorial Park to find all the candy the Long Pine firemen had spread about the park. It didn’t take long for the young people to clean up all the candy the firemen had placed.

Myers Construction of Broken Bow has been working since late 2023 on the North Main Street Project. The City of Ainsworth had to replace sewer and water lines on North Main Street from Highway 20 to the Ainsworth Waste Water Treatment Plant in preparation for the State of Nebraska replacing Main Street (Highway 7) through Ainsworth.
