“School Bells Will Be Ringing .... SOON” Next week Tuesday, August 15th, students will be greeted at Ainsworth Community Schools as the 2023-24 school year begins.

Brown County Report July 30th - August 5th, 2023 Sunday, July 30th Responded to a request for a welfare check in rural Brown County. The subject was located and reported safe at this time.

Long Pine City Councilmen Linda Alberts, Dave Cheatum, Andrea Collatos and Bryan Sanford - met in regular session on Thursday, August 3rd. After approving the consent agenda - minutes from July 6th and 20th, treasurer’s report, approval of claims and payroll summary, the council listened to reports from Animal Control Officer Dave Cheatum and Mayor Brown who gave the Health Board Report and Mayor’s Report.

The Heritage House Museum in Long Pine hosted “FOSSIL DAY” on Saturday, August 5th. The many fossil related activities were enjoyed by approximately 250 people.

The upcoming 2023-24 school year is speeding into the calendar. Drivers on the street, however, should not. As more students traverse busy streets and crosswalks to the school, it is the driver’s responsibility to remain attentive and allow pedestrians to safely cross the street. Especially, remember student safety when encountering school buses, crosswalks, and school zones. By following state and local laws, you can better protect yourself, your passengers, and other students as they head back to school.

On August 5th a car seat check event was held at the Ainsworth Fire Hall. This event was sponsored by Ainsworth Fire and Rescue, Brown County Hospital and Safe Kids North Central.
