Abortion is an important issue for a clear majority of Nebraskans. The recent leak of a Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) draft opinion concerning an abortion case before the court is shocking. My lawyer friends tell me something like this is unprecedented in history, and represents a huge betrayal of the integrity of the court and all the dedicated Americans who work there. The person responsible will likely be disbarred and will never practice law in the United States again. It’s possible they could even be charged with serious federal crimes.

According to Sheriff Bruce Papstein, the Brown County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information on a stolen pressure washer. Sometime between the night of April 22, 2022 and April 25, 2022, an Alkota pressure washer was stolen from a residence approximately four miles south on Southwest Road near Johnstown, NE.

The Ainsworth City Council will meet for is regular meeting on Wednesday, May 11th at 5:00 p.m. in the Ainsworth Conference Center.

After receiving only 16 hundredths of an inch of moisture from January 1 to April 1, north central Nebraska has received some welcomed rain. Saturday evening, May 7th Ainsworth had nearly an inch and a half of moisture.

At the regular meeting of the Brown County Commissioners on May 3rd, the Commissioners voted to table a resolution to modify the Interlocal Agreement regarding the Ainsworth/Brown County Care Center to create a separate legal entity.
