City Adopts $6.59 Million Budget; Gym Floor Insurance Claim Approved on Second Attempt

Following a budget hearing during the regular Ainsworth City Council meeting on September 8th, the Ainsworth City Council voted unanimously to approve a $6,596,334.00 budget for 2021-22. For comparison, the 2020-21 budget was $9,396,033.00, though they actually only spent an estimated $5,599,796.00 (the fiscal year doesn’t end until September 30th).

Chelsea Hladky Donates $2,500.00 Bayer Fund Donation to Sandhills Rod & Gun Club

Local farmer Chelsea Hladky recently directed a $2,500.00 Bayer Fund America’s Farmers Grow Communities donation to Sandhills Rod & Gun Club. The America’s Farmers Grow Communities program, sponsored by Bayer Fund, partners with farmers to provide grants to local nonprofits to help their communities.

Ainsworth Bulldogs Fall to Burwell, 18 to 62

Coming off their season opener 82-44 win over the Plainview Pirates, the Ainsworth Bulldogs traveled to Burwell and were handed a 18-62 defeat on September 3rd. The Burwell Longhorns were Class D1 champions in 2020 and returned many starters.
