After the loss of her infant child in 2016, Melissa Stewart of Long Pine decided she needed an outlet, and Prairieland Flowers was created. She had a background in horticulture and cut flowers.

The Sandhills Discovery Board met Thursday, September 30th at the Ainsworth Public Library at 4:00 p.m. President Betty Nelson called the meeting to order. Treasurer Linda Alberts presented two bills and they were approved for payment. The appointments of a secretary and a new board member were tabled until the next meeting.
