Citizens Express Concerns Over Grain Dust From CVA Feedmill

Troy Larson met with the Ainsworth City Council at its regular meeting on Wednesday, October 13th to express his concern over dust from the CVA Feed Mill. Larson lives across the street from the feed mill and said the blower on top of the feed mill blows out a lot of dust and covers everything with a yellow dust.

New Brown/Rock Emergency Management Agency to be Led by Director Traci Ganser

By Lydia Allen Traci Ganser of Ainsworth was offered the Brown County Emergency Management Director position in May 2021 and began the job on July 1st. In late September, the Rock County Commissioners and Brown County Commissioners signed an agreement to become the Brown/Rock Emergency Management Agency (BREMA), of which Ganser is now the director.

Social Security Announces 5.9 Percent Benefit Increase for 2022

Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits for approximately 70 million Americans will increase 5.9 percent in 2022, the Social Security Administration announced today. The 5.9 percent cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) will begin with benefits payable to more than 64 million Social Security beneficiaries in January 2022.

Ainsworth Middle School Cross Country Teams Finish Season at State

The Ainsworth Middle School Cross Country teams finished the 2021 season with a run at the Middle School State Cross Country Championships hosted by Papillion La Vista South High School on October 9th. The meet featured schools from all four classes spanning the entire state. Highlighting the day for Ainsworth was a 14th place finish on the girls’ side and 23rd place team finish on the boys.
