VITA Tax Program Available at Ainsworth Public Library

Ainsworth Public Library is hosting a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site that started on January 31st, 2025. The program will be held on Thursdays February 6th - April 3rd from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. and Saturdays February 1st - April 5th from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m in the Ainsworth Library.

Final Emergency Relief Project from 2019 Flood to Begin Construction on Carns Bridge

The Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) announced that construction on the Carns State Aid Bridge will begin on March 10th, weather permitting. The bridge is located approximately 5.5 miles east of the Highway 7 bridge over the Niobrara River in Rock and Keya Paha Counties and is the final emergency response project from the flooding of March 2019 to go to construction.

Nebraska Treasurer Tom Briese encourages Nebraskans to observe Unclaimed Property Day on February 1st by searching www.NebraskaLostCash. gov to see if they have cash or other valuables waiting for them. Briese also said that Nebraskans who have lived in other states should check www.MissingMoney. com as it is a nationwide

Trista McMillin Takes Over as Ainsworth Senior Center Manager

Trista McMillin started on January 6th as the new manager for the Ainsworth Community Senior Center. The Senior Center provides opportunities for senior citizens in the Ainsworth area to build camaraderie and take place in activities such as pool, card games, bible study, as well as attend presentations from businesses such as Rangeland Rehab.
