It’s ‘Groundhog Day’ all over again when it comes to vouchers for private/parochial schools I really enjoyed the film, “Groundhog Day.” It starred Bill Murray – who is generally hilarious – as a TV weatherman covering Groundhog Day in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, home of the famous groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil. But Murray is caught in some kind of time warp in which the day’s events, and mis-adventures, keep repeating themselves.

Capitol Conversations: From Pasture to Policy This week at the Capitol has been a busy one, with significant discussions taking place in both committees I am on, Transportation & Telecommunications and the Judiciary Committee. Some of the more significant bills heard in T & T revolved around ATVs/UTVs and the ability to register them for highway use outside a village or corporate limits, as well as a bill to allow them to be operated after sunset and before sunrise specifically for the use of snow removal.

Nebraska’s December Unemployment Rate Unchanged from November

The Nebraska Department of Labor announced Nebraska’s unemployment rate for December is 2.8 percent, seasonally adjusted. The rate is unchanged from the November rate and is up 0.3 percentage points from the December 2023 rate of 2.5 percent.
