Museum Week September 26th - 30th at Coleman House Museum

The Brown County Historical Society’s Coleman House Museum, located at the corner of Old Highway 7 and 5th Street, will be open the week of September 26th to September 30th at the following times: Monday the 26th, Tuesday the 27th, and Friday the 30th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday the 28th and Thursday the 29th it will be open from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. There will not be a bake sale or gingerbread contest this year.

One summer during my college years, I had a roommate who suffered from suicidal thoughts. She’d attempted suicide before we met, and been hospitalized, but continued to struggle. Back in the late 80s, there was very little public understanding of mental health issues, and the stigma was even stronger than it is today. Our other roommate and I didn’t know what to do, or where to turn.

Homecoming 2022

Ainsworth Community Schools held its annual Homecoming activities throughout the week - September 12th - 16th. Included in these events were Royalty Night, pep rally, homecoming parade, wearing different themed clothing each day of the week including class color day, volleyball triangular, cross country meet, football game with the homecoming coronation following at Lila McAndrew.
