Ainsworth Board of Education met in regular session on Monday evening, July 11th with all board member present - Scott Erthum, Frank Beel, Jim Arens, Brad Wilkins, Jessica Pozehl and Mark Johnson. Consent Agenda Under the consent agenda, the board approved the minutes of the previous meeting, payment of claims, cash flow ending balances as of June 30, 2022: Investments - $1,805,000.00, NSDLAF - $1,361,000.00, Receipts - $975,017.91, Payments - $1,114,765.79, Ending Balance - $582,618.78 and financial reports and set the next regular meeting for August 8, 2022, at 8:00 p.m.

At the regular meeting of the Ainsworth/Brown County Care Center Inter Local Board meeting on July 11th, the board reviewed the claims for June, 2022 and proposed payroll for July 22nd through August 5th and found funds fell short by $189,639.93.

Kayla Lucht, daughter of Tom and Becky Lucht and granddaughter of Joe and Wilma Andrews and Betty Mae Lucht, recently graduated from Iowa State University with a Doctorate of Education focusing on Community College Leadership on May 12, 2022.

The 2022 Summer Reading Program “Oceans of Possibilities” at the Ainsworth Public Library concluded June 30th with the final fun hours. This was also the last day for participants registered on Reader-Zone to log their minutes of reading.

Summertime. For most, this signals thoughts of warm weather and good times with family and friends. Sadly, what brings happiness for some can trigger stress and sorrow for others.
