Nebraska’s Primary Election is set for Tuesday, May 10, 2022. The deadline for incumbents to file was February 15, 2022.

A regular meeting of the Brown County Hospital (BCH) Board of Trustees was held Monday, February 21, 2022. Board members present were Chairman Brent Deibler, John Gross, Tate Schipporeit, Jim Walz and Brian Delimont. Also attending were Ruth Stephens - Interim CEO, Tad Stearns - CFO, Erica Hasenohr - Clinic Manager, Dr. Melvin Campbell and Tawny Allen - Recording Secretary. Devyn France, Nancy Steinhauser and Geri Johnson joined the meeting for their presentations.

The AHS Speech team ended their regular season of competition on Saturday, February 19th at the Ainsworth Speech Meet. The team finished in 1st place out of 6 teams, and had widespread success in all events.

Ainsworth freshman Jolyn Pozehl represented Ainsworth High School in the first sanctioned NSAA All-Class State Wrestling Championship for girls. The Girls State Wrestling Championship was held in Omaha on February 18th and 19th in conjunction with the boys state met.

Moving from the big city of Houston, TX to the little town of Ainsworth, NE, I had no idea how much my life would really change. I moved here my freshman year of high school. My dad signed me up for FFA, and I couldn’t believe it: ME, a city slicker, taking an FFA class.

FFA: an organization dedicated to the future of agriculture that has had many impacts on me. Through my classes and my experiences in FFA, I’ve gained skills and interests that have impacted my future career. Through FFA, I have learned the qualities and skills that it takes to make a great leader.
