Perhaps the reason for this is simply because humans are mobile, and we tend to move away from dangerous areas or areas lacking in food to safer and more abundant regions.

Ainsworth Fire and Rescue Department The Brown County Ambulance Association and Ainsworth Fire and Rescue Department held their annual awards night on February 19th to honor their members for years of service and other awards. Ainsworth Fire and Rescue Department A review of 2021 was presented by Devin Painter, 3rd Assistant Fire Chief.

Brown County History

1897: 125 Years Ago Letters to the Editor responded to one another regarding what one correspondent called “the Big irrigation scheme now on foot.” A Long Pine resident wrote to the Star-Journal that the people of Brown County were “almost unanimous in their favor toward the irrigation plan.” The response said the people in Brown County were “positively against it.” A meeting was held for the purpose of taking further steps to have Ainsworth precinct placed outside of the Golden Irrigation District and for other purposes connected with the question of irrigation. The Cash Grocery opened up this week on the “West side of Main St., 1st door north of Paine’s real estate office,” which sold everything from groceries, teas and coffees to feed oils and tobaccos.

2021 Year-In Review - May

May 2021 Nebraska Department of Transportation announced a delay in the construction work initially planned for the 2021 spring and summer that would repair Highway 20 through Ainsworth and the Highway 20 bridge over Long Pine Creek in Brown County. Work on Highway 83 through Valentine, planned to begin that spring, was also delayed.

US Bird Flu Case Puts Chicken, Turkey Farms On High Alert

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) _ Farms that raise turkeys and chickens for meat and eggs are on high alert and taking steps to increase biosecurity, fearing a repeat of a widespread bird flu outbreak in 2015 that killed 50 million birds across 15 states and cost the federal government nearly $1 billion.
