Ainsworth Senior Center Celebrates 45 Years

Forty-five years ago on August 2, 1981, the Ainsworth Senior Center held an open house to celebrate their new building. Senior Center officers in 1981 were Dorothy Walton, Bill Gudgel, Dwight Moody, Burdetta Jansen and George Brede.

Ainsworth Community Schools Begins Classes on Thursday, August 13

Ainsworth Community Schools will open its doors to students for the 2026-27 school year on Thursday, August 13. The school has a host of new employees beginning this year.
Ainsworth Reclaims Border Cup

Ainsworth recaptured the Border Cup Saturday at the Ainsworth Golf Course, winning the annual match play event between members of the Ainsworth Golf Course and Bassett Country Club by a score of 15-1/2 to 9-1/2.

The Class C1-11 Girls Basketball Sub-District tournament was hosted by Ord on February 15th through 17th. 16-8 Ainsworth was seeded #2 and defeated #3 seed Valentine by 17 points on Tuesday to qualify for the sub-district final vs. the Ord Chanticleers on Thursday the 17th.

The Dawgs’ 2021-22 regular season came to a close on Friday, February 18th at Cody-Kilgore High School, where AHS crushed the 2-13 Cowboys by 44 points. “This game should help propel us into sub-districts.

Jaxon Rucker Competed in Nebraska Elks State Hoop Shoot

Ainsworth sixth-grader Jaxon Rucker finished third on Saturday, February 19th in the Nebraska Elks State Hoop Shoot at York. Competing in the 12-13-year-old division, Rucker made nine of his first 10 free throws, then hit 11 of 15 to finish at 20-for-25.
