Ainsworth Senior Center Celebrates 45 Years

Forty-five years ago on August 2, 1981, the Ainsworth Senior Center held an open house to celebrate their new building. Senior Center officers in 1981 were Dorothy Walton, Bill Gudgel, Dwight Moody, Burdetta Jansen and George Brede.

Ainsworth Community Schools Begins Classes on Thursday, August 13

Ainsworth Community Schools will open its doors to students for the 2026-27 school year on Thursday, August 13. The school has a host of new employees beginning this year.
Ainsworth Reclaims Border Cup

Ainsworth recaptured the Border Cup Saturday at the Ainsworth Golf Course, winning the annual match play event between members of the Ainsworth Golf Course and Bassett Country Club by a score of 15-1/2 to 9-1/2.

On Wednesday, January 12th, Ainsworth Community Schools opened their doors for FFA District X’s LDEs Competition. LDEs, which stand for Leadership Development Events, cultivate a combination of public speaking with agricultural understanding to create a wide variety of competitions for FFA members.

NSAA Announces NCPA Academic All-State Awards

The Nebraska School Activities Association (NSAA) announced the student recipients of the Fall 2021-2022 Nebraska Chiropractic Physicians Association (NCPA) Academic All-State Awards. Since 2006, this NSAA Awards Program has recognized students who meet the criteria for nomination by their school in the season of their activity.

Academic honors for 55 Aggie students at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture (NCTA) in Curtis were announced Thursday, January 13th. “I am proud of these students making the Deans’ List and Honor Roll for the fall semester of 2021,” said NCTA Dean Larry Gossen.

Central Community College (CCC) has announced the names of full-time students who earned spots on the President’s and Dean’s honor lists for the 2021 fall semester. The students were enrolled at one or more CCC locations, which include the Columbus, Grand Island and Hastings campuses; Holdrege, Kearney and Lexington centers; and Ord Learning Center.
